OLD CLOVER CREEK CEMETERY
Medon, TennesseeThe Old Clover Creek Cemetery is located on the County Line between Madison and Hardeman Counties. Traveling South on Hwy. 18 from Medon, Tennessee go South from Medon about 1 mile, turn right and go west up a country lane named Jared Lane. Go, only, about .10 (a tenth) of a mile off Hwy 18, to a house and take the field road South, which goes by the barn, associated with the old Jared Home to the cemetery. The Cemetery is about 100 yards off the road south of the barn.
Clover Creek Baprist Church and cemetery was established in 1826 on 2 1/2 acres of land donated by John Carter Teague his grave site is marked by two large mill stones at his head and one at his feet..
Clover Creek Baptist Church moved to a new location in Medon in 1914.
A Trust Fund was established on May 28th, 1987 by a group of concerned citizens who organized and filed for a non-profit charitable trust fund to maintain and keep the cemetery. Donations are used to keep the old cemetery mowed as well as general up keep.
Anyone wishing to donate to this fund which is still in need of contributions, may do so by sending thier contributions to the;

The stone of Mr. Taylor is difficult to read and is identified as Canellum Taylor who was born October 30, 1774 in Bladen Co., NC. He died January 4, 1848 in Madison County, TN. He married Feb., 24, 1801 in Chatham Co., NC to Frances Marsh, daughter of Robert Marsh Sr. and Martha Head. Canellum died as the family were relocating to Trenton, TN. Canellum and Frances had 10 children, with only one dying young, Elizabeth, b. Apr 13, 1813 in Smith Co., TN and died in 1825 in Madison Co., TN. She was buried in unmarked grave by her father.
